Size guide
- Wrap a soft measuring tape around your dog’s neck where the collar will sit.
- Leave enough room to fit two fingers comfortably between the tape and your dog’s neck.
- Check this measurement against the sizes below. Choose a size with room to tighten or loosen the collar.
- XS: 8–12 inches.
- S: 11–15 inches.
- M: 12–20 inches.
- L: 15–24 inches.
- XL: 17–26 inches.
- You can also measure a buckle collar that already fits. Lay it flat and measure from the buckle’s metal pin to the hole your dog uses. Do not measure the full length.
- Check the fit again after putting the collar on your dog. You should be able to slide two fingers comfortably underneath.
The leather
- We use Buttero leather made in Italy. It is vegetable-tanned, which means plant-based tanning agents turn the hide into leather.
- Buttero leather has a smooth surface, rich color, and firm feel.
- Small marks and grain differences are natural parts of the leather. Each collar will look slightly different.
- Over time, the leather develops a patina—a gradual change in its surface and appearance.
How it is made
- Every collar is handmade by KowaLeather in our New Jersey studio.
- We cut the leather, add the buckle holes, and attach the solid brass hardware.
- Each collar brings together Italian leather and American craftsmanship.
