Size guide
Wrap a soft measuring tape around your dog’s neck where the collar will sit.
Leave enough room to slide two fingers between the tape and your dog’s neck.
Compare that measurement with the sizes below. Choose a size with room to make the collar tighter or looser.
XS: 8–12 inches.
S: 11–15 inches.
M: 12–20 inches.
L: 15–24 inches.
XL: 17–26 inches.
If you do not have a soft tape, use string. Mark the length, then measure it against a ruler.
You can also measure a buckle collar that fits well. Measure from the buckle’s metal pin to the hole your dog uses. Do not measure the full length.
Check the fit when the collar is on. Two fingers should fit comfortably underneath, but the collar should not slip over your dog’s head.
The leather
We use Buttero leather made in Italy. It is tanned with plant-based tanning agents, a process called vegetable tanning.
Buttero leather has a smooth surface, rich color, and firm feel.
Natural grain and small marks give each collar its own look.
Over time, the leather gains a patina—a natural change in its color and surface.
How it is made
Every collar is handmade by KowaLeather in our New Jersey studio.
We cut and shape the leather, then add the buckle holes.
We fit the collar with a center O-ring and solid brass hardware.
The simple design keeps the focus on the leather and its bold ring detail.
